Yesterday I went to PTJ, which is held twice a year. At the exhibition, I saw this year’s new fabrics from partner suppliers, as well as some interesting fabrics from manufacturers we have not yet worked with. I’d like to share them with you again. First, let me introduce the booths of our existing partner suppliers.
SHIBAYA’s fabrics are mostly made of cotton and linen. Their natural, premium texture is very popular not only in Japan but also in overseas markets.
At this PTJ booth, the Ventile fabric area was very popular when I visited.
Since overseas customers often inquire about Ventile fabrics, I originally wanted to take this opportunity to photograph the actual products properly. But there were too many people around, so I could only take a few quick shots.
How popular is this fabric? ... OS2302 has been out of stock for a long time. A real example from my own experience: it shipped on Thursday, and on Friday I confirmed with SHIBAYA that there were still more than 1,000 meters in stock. But when I tried to order on Monday, it was already ... out of stock ... If you’re interested in this fabric, make sure to order early and buy at the right time.
I’ve summarized the most popular Ventile fabrics for your reference.
SENDA, which is well known for bag materials, launched three eco-friendly fabrics this year. Among them is an unusual eco-friendly nylon. Its hand feel is no different from regular nylon, but with the added environmental benefits, my impression of this fabric has risen even more.
What’s impressive is that this fabric also uses Toray’s ECOLON. A lot of effort has gone into it, starting from the fibers.
Let’s take a look at finished products made with this fabric.
A fabric manufacturer said to make Burberry trench coat fabric. The fabric is highly durable and highly waterproof. It holds its shape very well; you can see the image below, which tests its water-repellent performance. Not a single drop seeped through.
