What to wear while working from home?? TRABEST fabric, you deserve it

Hello everyone, I’m Xiao Dong from ApparelX.

How have you all been lately? The third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is sweeping the world, and as a salaried worker living in Tokyo, one of the hardest-hit areas, I’ve been working from home a lot recently. Every time it’s my turn to work from home, I run into a century-old problem: what should I wear???

Maybe many of you would say, just wear loungewear at home. I thought so too, but... working from home inevitably means video meetings, and I don’t dare appear on camera in pajamas.

Because Japan is a country that values appearance and etiquette, people back home might not think it’s a big deal to go to work makeup-free in a T-shirt, but in Japan it’s hard to see a girl going out in pajamas without makeup. Especially in the workplace, everyone is expected to be neatly dressed, and even when working from home, people still pay attention to their appearance and clothing.

So the question is, how can you dress comfortably without looking sloppy??

The answer is that you need clothing that combines style, a formal feel, and comfort. This kind of clothing doesn’t look too sloppy, can be worn for slightly more formal occasions, and feels comfortable and unrestricted—simply perfect. In fact, this concept was also introduced at the 21sw trend fabric seminar at the 2020 autumn/winter Shanghai textile exhibition: “two-mile wear.”

Two-mile wear

So-called “two-mile wear” means clothing that is suitable for all kinds of occasions within a 2-mile radius of home. It’s comfortable enough to wear at home, suitable for going to the supermarket or a restaurant, and best of all, it isn’t too casual even for the office. Such clothing places very high demands on the fabric. Unlike ordinary suit fabrics, these fabrics need to be skin-friendly with natural fibers while also providing a certain amount of support. At this point, I have to recommend ApparelX’s newly launched TRABEST® fabric.

TRABEST® fabric

TRABEST® fabric is characterized by stretch, easy care, and moisture absorption and quick-drying properties. Because the yarn for this fabric is made using a special process, it looks like wool fiber products, and compared with ordinary suit fabrics, it has moderate stretch. To borrow its slogan: clothing made with TRABEST® is suitable for any occasion, from travel to work. Easy care means this fabric series uses wrinkle-resistant setting and other processing, so even after machine washing it does not need ironing, does not wrinkle easily, and is not easily deformed. Moisture absorption and quick-drying means the fabric has good breathability, keeping you dry even in the height of summer.

Below I’ve posted a few TRABEST samples for reference. In addition to the images below, ApparelX also has many moreTRABEST fabrics. Please click the product links below orsearch~
