Hello, this is Kayaba from the ApparelX division.
Today, we would like to introduce Fujikinbai® Japanese canvas.
It is Kawashima Shoji’s Japanese-made canvas brand.
Kawashima Shoji was originally founded as a specialized trading company for marine materials, and is now developing its textile business as a comprehensive textile trading company.
As a leading Japanese-made canvas brand, Fujikinbai® has upheld tradition and provided stable materials and quality since the company was founded in 1948, while remaining committed to “JAPAN MADE.”
Today, while valuing the JAPAN quality cultivated over many years with cotton canvas, we source carefully selected materials not only from Japan but from around the world, and produce textiles that go beyond the framework of materials under the name “Made by Fujikinbai®.”
Fujikinbai® will continue to value its bond with nature and provide textiles that bring joy to everyone.

Fujikinbai’s Japanese-made canvas is woven on shuttle looms.
Shuttle looms are powerful and well suited for weaving canvas. They also have selvages, so there is no fraying of the yarn, and the fabric finishes with a soft, full texture.
Compared with shuttleless looms, they require more handwork from skilled workers and are less efficient to produce, so many factories around the world use the more productive shuttleless looms.
By the way, in men’s suiting fabrics as well, fabrics woven on shuttle looms are supported by tailors and others who value their natural texture.

No. 10 canvas with wax finish (paraffin treatment). With continued use, the textile softens and develops a distinctive aged look over time.
Available in a wide range of colors.

It was apparently originally used for factory belts and similar applications. An impactful No. 2 canvas.
I think it is quite rare to find No. 2 canvas available in multiple colors.
Using a special dyeing machine, even thick textile is dyed thoroughly all the way to the core of the yarn.

Cotton canvas No. 11 with adhesive lamination for a firm, resilient feel. As the standard for the thinnest canvas material, it also comes in a wide range of colors.
Because it is dyed with direct dyes, it is a material that can express a vintage look through Wash Finish. Its 50-color lineup is also appealing.
