Hello. I’m Kayaba from the ApparelX division.
Today, we’d like to introduce a new manufacturer listed on ApparelX.
Since its founding in 1949, this textile manufacturer has planned, produced, and sold carefully crafted Corduroy and velour fabrics made in the Enshu region, located in western Shizuoka Prefecture. Its products are distinguished by the high quality created by technologies passed down over many years. Please experience the quality of these materials, which can only be brought out through traditional manufacturing methods. —Quoted from https://kumoibeauty.com.
On Chubu Betchin Corduroy’s website, the actual production process is shown in video form.
They are short videos, but since you can see the machines actually running, they are interesting, so please take a look here if you like.
As introduced on this production process page, the major difference from overseas Corduroy textile is the nap loosening process (the process of kneading with water to raise the fuzz). Overseas Corduroy does not have this process, and after the pile cutting process, it proceeds to the singeing process → dyeing and finishing process.
By kneading in the nap loosening process, the fuzz stands up better and the texture becomes softer.
By contrast, overseas Corduroy textile has a harder hand feel, and the fuzz is only moderate.
The production technology for Corduroy made in the Enshu region was not imported from overseas; it developed uniquely in Japan. We hope you will use Japanese Corduroy textile.
Among Corduroy fabrics, the finer wale types use finer thread, and compared with wider wale fabrics, they require greater technical skill.
First, we would like to pick out a few of these fine wales.
Fine wale fabrics are also thinner in terms of fabric weight, and depending on the item, some are suitable for spring and summer.

This has very fine wales and has undergone a special Wash Finish finish finish, giving it an even softer texture.

31W is one of the finest fine wale fabrics. It uses polyester/cotton/rayon/polyurethane, and is finished to be soft while maintaining strength.

This is a lightweight Corduroy suitable for spring and summer. The colors are soft and bright.
Next, I’d like to introduce a few items from the Dekolore series, which I personally like.
This series is made by applying pressure to part of the fabric so that the bleaching agent does not seep into the fabric, creating a random mottled pattern.
