Hello, this is Yamamoto Tasuku from the ApparelX trend blog.
As the title suggests, this time we will be introducing the three major textile manufacturers in Japan, as well as some of the textile from the 2013 Spring/Summer collection.
Miyuki Woolen Textile Co., Ltd. is a long-established textile manufacturer founded in 1905, and practices environmentally friendly manufacturing at its Yokkaichi factory. They place importance on coexistence with nature, such as careful washing with natural soap, friction washing with washing sticks made of natural wood from Hokkaido, and using underground water from the Suzuka mountain range. They have also improved their management system through obtaining ISO14001 certification and strict environmental inspections within the group. They are committed to contributing to a sustainable society through zero waste, management of chemical substances, reuse of local resources, employee education, and community exchange activities.
SOLARO features beautiful, vibrant colors and a firm texture that looks great when tailored. It allows for glamorous yet classic styling.
Launched in the Fall/Winter 2012 season, the Essential Bunch is a collection for suits. We have pursued highly practical manufacturing that meets all the needs of the business environment. It is a business tool that packages a variety of trendy colors and patterns, including cool, lightweight materials suited to the Japanese climate, sporty knit materials, and high-quality, durable prestige materials.
A collection inspired by Showa era tailoring based on GINZA's own archives. Made with thick worsted, tightly twisted yarn, it has a powerful look and a dry, breathable texture. This material is recommended not only for set-ups, but also for classic suits.
Collection bunches and varieties for use as set-ups and jacket items. We pursued the quality appropriate for each item through consistent manufacturing that was particular about the selection of materials, design, and finishing process. We developed and edited trendy and functional materials that can only be made of wool, such as designs that express natural textures and refreshing textures.
Founded in 1912 in Ichinomiya, Owari, a town famous for its textiles, Kuzuri Woolen Industries Co., Ltd. has been using rare Schonherr looms since the early Showa period to produce suit fabrics that have a soft, rich texture like hand-woven fabrics. The reason they insist on using Schonherr looms, which are now ultra-low-speed looms, is to produce high-quality fabrics that are supple and elastic. The company's trademark, "DOMINX," comes from the French word for "conquer," and expresses their confidence in their high quality. The weaving process begins with the preparation of the warp threads, followed by warping, heddle threading, reed threading, and weft preparation, and is a series of careful handiwork that takes about two weeks to complete one roll of textile . The appeal of Kuzuri Woolen is the fusion of tradition and technology, such as the use of 24 heddles that allow for complex patterns and high-density weaving with fine reeds.
This textile is made by weaving high-quality thread for the warp and 40% kid mohair less than one year old for the weft. In addition to the smoothness of high-quality wool and kid mohair, the weft is a single thread, so it is woven with 1.2 times the number of threads than the warp, giving it tension and luster.
This houndstooth pattern is carefully woven using high-quality wool.
Kunishima Co., Ltd. is a long-established textile manufacturer based in Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture, founded in 1850 by the Owari samurai Kunishima Takeemon. Rooted in Oshu, one of Japan's leading textile production areas, the company takes advantage of the region's soft water and division of labor to produce high-quality textile, mainly for men's clothing. Since its founding, the company has continued to move forward with the development of industry under the philosophy of "improving national textile through industry," and continues to provide high-precision products under strict quality control. The company focuses on creating delicate and durable fabrics that are excellent in dimensional stability and ease of sewing, and can accurately express the modeler's intentions. The company's corporate philosophy is to "support the expression of ideal lifestyles," and the company continues to develop materials that respect tradition while meeting the needs of the times. The company's own brand, "HERDREX," offers Japanese textile made from high-quality wool, and "vest SELECTION" offers a standard line for business use, meeting diverse customer needs.
[TWILL CHAMBRAY] Twill Chambray is a twill material made of fine thread that can be worn in three seasons. By changing the color of the vertical and horizontal sides, it expresses denim and solaro (iridescent) looks. The distinctive colors create individuality. The warp thread is made of thin 72-count double thread to give it a glossy finish, and the weft thread is made of 48-count single thread for a soft finish.
HERDREX is a collection of Japanese-made textile carefully woven on our own looms. We use only high-quality wool and offer products that utilize weaving techniques, blending with other materials, finishing processes, and dyeing techniques. We are sure you will be pleased with our wide variety of No pattern.
[FANCY WORSTED] This product is a combination of fancy worsted wool, polyester, and nylon. Depending on the ratio, it has the advantage of increasing strength and being able to make thin thread. It also has high wrinkle resistance, but the disadvantage is that once wrinkles form, they are difficult to fix.
vest SELECTION is a standard line carefully selected by Kunishima. It mainly features No pattern and woven patterns suitable for business suits. It comes in a wide range of colors that can be used by people of all ages and gender.
