I Went to the Exhibition! (1) COSMO TEXTILE 21SS Products

I took part in the textile exhibition hosted by COSMO TEXTILE and Uni Textile. I would like to share what I learned there and my impressions.

First, COSMO TEXTILE plans, produces, and sells materials mainly for outerwear and bottoms, centered on woven fabrics made from natural fibers. This time, a wide range of 21SS products were on display.

Because the booth mainly featured natural-fiber fabrics such as khaki and beige textiles made from cotton and linen, it gave a strong impression of both “natural” and “functional,” and the appeal of natural fibers seemed to come through in the colors. Of course, there were also some shades that received many inquiries.

Looking more closely, keywords such as “salt shrink,” “strong twist,” “water repellent,” and “high density” stood out. Since there were many terms I did not know, I learned a lot by asking my manager about technical terms and applications as I viewed the fabrics.

I learned that salt shrink refers to a salt shrink finish, which gives the fabric a textured surface and a unique feel.

At COSMO, I saw several fabrics with salt-shrink water-repellent processing, and I felt they combine functionality with texture, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Also, strong twist means putting twist into the yarn. The main features of strong-twist yarn are wrinkle resistance and a dry touch. I also learned that high density means increasing the fabric density to make the fabric stronger.

The fabric in the photo above is cotton and linen moleskin. I was drawn to it because of its fresh touch. By using Flanders linen, cotton and linen moleskin offers a cool feel and a slub texture. I think it is ideal for summer.

Overall, I felt that many of COSMO’s products have a natural texture and not only functionality but also strong fashion appeal.

Recently, I studied the phrase, “Everyone except myself is my teacher.” During my first month at the company, I learned many things. Going forward, I will continue to keep this attitude of learning from everyone, deepen my expertise, and contribute to the company.
