I Went to the Exhibition! (1) COSMO TEXTILE 21SS Products

I attended the textile exhibition hosted by COSMO TEXTILE and Uni Textile. I would like to share what I learned there and my impressions.

First, COSMO TEXTILE plans, produces, and sells materials for outerwear and bottoms, with a focus on woven fabrics made from natural fibers. This time, they are exhibiting a wide range of items centered on their 21SS products.

Since they mainly exhibit natural fiber textiles such as khaki and beige fabrics made from cotton and linen, the impression is strongly “natural” and “functional,” and the appeal of natural fibers seems to come through in the colors. Of course, there are also some colors that receive many inquiries.

Looking more closely, keywords such as “salt shrinkage,” “high twist,” “water repellent,” and “high density” stand out. There were many terms I did not know, so while looking at the products, my supervisor taught me the technical terms and applications, which was very informative.

I learned that salt shrinkage is a processing method that gives the textile a textured, uneven surface and creates a distinctive feel.

At COSMO, I saw several salt-shrinkage water-repellent textiles, and I thought that, in addition to their functionality, they also have a nice texture and are suitable for a wide range of applications.

Also, high twist means applying twist to the thread. The main characteristics of high-twist thread are wrinkle resistance and a dry touch. I learned that high density means increasing the density of the textile, making it stronger.

The photo above shows a cotton and linen moleskin textile. I was drawn to it because of its fresh feel. By using Flanders linen, the cotton and linen moleskin gains a cool, slubby texture. I think it is perfect for summer.

Overall, I felt that many of COSMO TEXTILE's products have a natural texture and are not only functional but also highly fashionable.

Recently, I learned the phrase, “Everyone other than myself is my teacher.” During my first month at the company, I learned a great deal. Going forward as well, I will keep that attitude of “everyone other than myself is my teacher,” deepen my expertise, and contribute to the company.
