It’s been a while. I’m Dong.
This week, I went with my partner, Mr. Tsu, to the 8th Fashion World Tokyo held at Tokyo Big Sight.
I’d like to introduce it, including information about the exhibition and my own impressions.

Dates: October 27 (Tue) - 29 (Thu), 2020
Venue: Tokyo Big Sight
Organizer: Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd.
Fashion World Tokyo brings together exhibitors from around the world, including companies that handle apparel, bags, shoes, accessories, OEM companies/production factories, and textile, materials, and trims suppliers. Not only Japanese companies, but overseas companies also exhibited.

This time as well, Yamamoto Co., Ltd., a group company of Okura Shoji, exhibited at the show.
The photos below are of Yamamoto’s booth.

As a high-end wholesaler of accessories, Yamamoto handles buttons and linings of high quality and a wide range of products, and also meets the needs of tailors and specialty store customers with products such as its own branded fusible interlinings.
As always, the booth gave off a clean, upscale atmosphere.
I went with the purpose of seeing various textiles and greeting the manufacturers, and I made sure to do exactly that.
Among the Japanese textile manufacturers exhibiting this time, there were mainly leather and fur companies, and few woven textile manufacturers. I’m sure there are people who like real fur, but I found it a little cruel, so I didn’t take any photos.

As for overseas companies, due to the impact of COVID-19, many of the staff from overseas companies could not come to the venue, so interpreters were in charge of their booths instead. I was impressed by the functional, recycled-fiber, and sports strengths of the Taiwanese textiles, and when there were inquiries, the interpreters helped out and responded online via FaceTime, WeChat, and similar tools.

Because I think it’s hard to truly convey the atmosphere of an exhibition unless you see it with your own eyes and touch it with your own hands, I’m thinking of recording a vlog when I go to the next one.
Thank you for reading to the end.
