Ordering from the United States

Delivery to the United States
You can choose from the following delivery methods for addresses in the United States. The delivery fee is shown at checkout before you place your order.
  • DHL (International Standard Delivery): arrives in about 2–4 days after dispatch. This is the method we recommend.
  • ECMS (International Small Packet): arrives in about 7–15 days after dispatch, at the lowest fee. Available only for sample cards and parcels under 2.0 kg, and shown at checkout only when your order is eligible.
  • Combined delivery: ships together with your earlier order to save the delivery fee. Shipping may take longer.
  • Your own delivery account: if you have your own carrier account (for example, DHL), we can ship with it and charge no delivery fee. A handling fee of JPY 2,000 applies for export procedures such as the invoice, packing list, and export packing. To use it, send us the carrier name and account number through the support page; we enable it after checking.
Delivery times are counted from the day we dispatch your parcel and do not include customs clearance. For more about each method, see Delivery.
Prices and taxes on ApparelX
  • When you are logged in, prices are shown in your account currency. For accounts in the United States, this is usually US dollars (USD). To see how we convert prices from Japanese yen, see Currency and Exchange Rates.
  • Japanese consumption tax is not charged on orders delivered to the United States.
  • Our prices do not include US import duties, taxes, or customs fees. Who pays them depends on the delivery method, as explained below.
  • As a rough guide, US import duties on our products are about 15–30% of the value of the goods. This rate is only an estimate and may change. For details, please contact US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Import duties with DHL
We send DHL orders to the United States on DAP (Delivered at Place) terms. This means that you, as the importer, pay any import duties, taxes, and customs fees.
DHL will ask you to pay these before or at delivery and may add its own handling fee. Please pay them so that your parcel can be delivered.
The exact amount depends on the product, its value, and where it was made.
Import duties with International Small Packet (ECMS)
For International Small Packet (ECMS) to the United States, we ship on DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms and prepay the import duties and taxes so that your parcel clears customs.
  • Orders of sample cards only: no extra charge. We cover the import duties and taxes.
  • Orders that contain products (such as buttons, fabrics, ribbons, or cords): we invoice you later for the actual import duties and taxes.
By choosing International Small Packet, you agree to pay this later invoice for orders that contain products. For details, see Important Update: US Shipping via Small Packet (ECMS).
Orders over US$2,500 and your EIN
Shipments valued over US$2,500 need a formal customs entry. For these, DHL (or another carrier) asks for your company's EIN (Employer Identification Number), or for your SSN if you do not have an EIN.
We can ship without your EIN; DHL will then ask you for it. If you send us your EIN in advance through the support page, we submit it with the shipment, which helps customs clearance go smoothly. DHL may still ask you for documents to verify it.
If you do not have an EIN, please give your SSN directly to DHL. Do not send your SSN to us.
Your shipping address
  • Enter your company's registered name. It is used on the customs documents.
  • Enter the recipient's full name. For International Small Packet (ECMS), the recipient's real full name is required.
  • Enter a phone number where the carrier can reach you, and your ZIP code.
