Today, as the title says, I will introduce spacer knit textile.
Spacer knit is a knit material made by circular knitting. It is a textile made by layering two fabrics, front and back, and connecting the front yarn and back yarn with a middle yarn.
It is similar to double-face woven fabric.

This structure is apparently called this because it resembles cardboard. The middle yarn of spacer knit corresponds to the core in the image above. Like cardboard, spacer knit also has a hollow structure.
Because of its characteristics, spacer knit is a firm textile that is hard to wrinkle. In addition, those made with synthetic fibers such as polyester often have good color development and a smooth touch.
It works well with bulky silhouettes and is popular because it pairs well with the looser trend in recent years, but depending on the textile, it has little drape, so a pattern that carefully calculates that firmness is necessary. Depending on the pattern, there is also a risk that the garment may instantly look poorly made, so caution is needed.
