Today, as the title says, we will introduce double knit textile.
Double knit is a knit material made by circular knitting. It is a textile in which two layers, front and back, are stacked and the face yarn and back yarn are connected by a middle yarn.
It is similar to a woven double-face fabric.

This structure seems to be called this because it resembles paper cardboard. The middle yarn in double knit corresponds to the core in the image above. Like cardboard, double knit also has a hollow structure.
Due to its characteristics, double knit is a firm textile that is not easily wrinkled. In addition, those made with synthetic fibers such as polyester often have good color development and a smooth feel against the skin.
It pairs well with bulky silhouettes and is popular because it also matches the loose-fitting trend in recent years, but depending on the textile, it may have little drape, so a pattern that carefully calculates that firmness is necessary. Depending on the pattern, there is also a risk that it may instantly look poorly made, so caution is needed.
