Tradition and Innovation: Lingo’s synthetic textiles look great

Hello.

I’m Kayaba from the ApparelX trend blog.

Today, I’d like to introduce Lingo textiles, which have just been newly added to the product lineup.

Manufacturer page here → search.php?maker=168

In this blog, for those in the apparel business who are looking for textiles for men’s or menswear-style casual clothing, especially synthetic textiles that can be used for heavy garments such as outerwear and pants, we will introduce Lingo textiles.

What is Lingo?

Lingo is a textile brand developed by Kuwamura’s Filament Division 5, Section 1.

Filament refers to fibers made by twisting together one long thread, and typical examples include nylon and polyester. (There are also staple-fiber materials such as polyester spun made by spinning short cotton-like fibers, but...)

In other words, Lingo focuses mainly on synthetic fibers. Synthetic fibers are relatively easy to process, which makes it easy to add a variety of functions and textures.

Not only functional materials, but Lingo textiles also feel carefully considered in terms of touch, texture, and color expression, giving them a modern impression.

It is exactly as the manufacturer site says: “We are modernizing old and good fabrics by weaving them with new threads.”

How many Lingo textiles are listed on ApparelX?

As of April 2024, just under 50 product numbers of Lingo textiles are listed on ApparelX.

Also, even if a textile is not listed on ApaprelX, it is often available to order, so if the textile you want is not listed, please contact us through the support center.

Product introduction

This is quite subjective, but I’ll introduce Lingo textiles.

If you would like to view the products in a list, please see the ApparelX manufacturer product list page here.

LIG6032 Ny/C SOLID GROSGRAIN WR

This is a traditional functional material called 60/40 cloth, made of 60% cotton and 40% nylon, but this textile uses twin-ply weft yarn, which increases the horizontal firmness of the entire textile and gives it a fuller feel. The fine horizontal ridges unique to grosgrain also pair beautifully with the matte sheen. Personally, I recommend the exquisite brown in color No. 23.

LIG8062 Techna Cotton 60/2 Bio Weather Cloth

It uses yarn called Techna Cotton, made by blending polyester microfiber and Pima cotton, and is characterized by its soft feel against the skin.

It has just a slight peach-skin-like fuzzy feel. Because it has been finished with a bio tunbler process, it has a relaxed look rather than a brand-new, glossy appearance.

Also, because it uses polyester, it is lighter than it looks and has the wrinkle-reducing and quick-drying properties that are also characteristic of polyester.

There are many kinds of weather cloth materials, but the more you touch it and the more you look at it, the more appealing it becomes.

KOF9777T Yarn Dyed Memory Chambray Twill

This is a memory chambray material made with yarn dyed polyester thread.

The distinctive sheen and moist touch of memory material are comfortable, and its shape retention makes it recommended for outerwear and more.

Memory material and chambray together are surprisingly rare, so this is definitely a material I want you to try.

KOF4800SY ACE Shine Vintage Satin

This is a textile with a vintage finish applied to an acetate satin weave. Its features are a silk-like sheen and the soft touch unique to acetate.

I think seeing the actual material in person would convey its appeal better. Am I the only one who feels a kind of Japanese wabi-sabi atmosphere here...?

It’s a bit specific, but I recommend it for sukajan jackets and the like.

In closing

Thank you for reading to the end.

Lingo develops materials with a strong sense of craftsmanship, and I hope you can feel even a little of what makes them so good.

Please consider Lingo textiles!
