What materials can be heat cut?

Heat cutting is possible for synthetic fibers (polyester, nylon, acrylic, polypropylene), etc.
Natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk, etc.) can burn or burn, so they cannot be cut with heat, and can only be cut with scissors.
Please note that thick twisted cord may not harden well even if they are synthetic fibers.
