The shawl label silk we use is woven in a small weaving workshop in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading silk textile regions. Fujiyoshida has a long history dating back to the Heian period. Spring water from Mt. Fuji flows into this land, providing the clean water necessary for good dyeing. Slow weaving on a shuttle loom allows air to be incorporated, creating a three-dimensional textile, and our artisans constantly inspect the fabric for imperfections. Dyeing, reeling, warping, and spinning are all performed by artisans under strict quality control, ensuring the best possible products for our customers.
