The fabric is woven with an exceptionally high thread count, giving it a very fine, moist texture and a substantial, firmly structured feel. This is something you can only experience in premium
facing silk fabric. It is also clearly visible in its appearance, with an elegant, luxurious sheen that is never gaudy. A simple
cummerbund of reliable quality will transform you into a sophisticated adult. You will feel confident wearing it in any formal setting, whether a royal event, awards ceremony, society gathering, reception, wedding, or concert. This is a product we recommend with the greatest confidence and pride. ""
The facing silk fabric used is woven at a small textile workshop in
Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading silk-producing areas. Fujiyoshida is a historic production center that dates back to the Heian period. This land, where spring water flows down from Mount Fuji, has the clean water that is essential for good dyeing.
In the
weaving process, Yamamoto's woven facing silk fabric uses as many as 13,000
warp threads in a width of only 47 cm, and for the
weft it uses an astonishingly thick 240-
denier yarn made by doubling and twisting 120-denier yarn.
By weaving slowly on a shuttle loom, the fabric traps air and becomes dimensional, and skilled craftsmen constantly inspect it for any damage. Dyeing, yarn production, warping, and weaving are each carried out under strict quality control by artisans for our customers and in order to create a good product.
