Japanese Craft Dyes & Finishes Items
〜 Washi paper yarn, kakishibu, binchotan and sumi dyes, natural indigo, sashiko and Azuma-daki 〜
Fabrics that carry materials, dyes and finishing techniques handed down in Japan: linen and cotton woven with twisted washi-paper yarn; kakishibu persimmon, binchotan charcoal and sumi-ink dyeing; natural-indigo rope-dyed denim; sashiko; Takashima chijimi crepe; hand-printed indigo discharge; and Azuma-daki and Kotohira-daki, dyed little by little on old-style machines and air-dried. Natural dyes and handwork vary by lot and some are dyed to order, so check samples and lead times before bulk production.
