Okura Shoji original super-versatile interfacing for coat and jacket parts, suitable for use across the entire bodice.
This interfacing is designed for the recent trend toward lightweight tailoring. Compared with conventional heavy-garment interfacing, it provides moderate shape retention by increasing the number of adhesive points to 12 points. It can also be used on worsted fabrics and other materials that are prone to resin fading, thanks to the use of W-point adhesive.

1. Best balance of ultra-soft feel, light weight, and shape retention With a thin 20D base fabric and an unprecedented combination of W12-point adhesive, it achieves an ultra-soft feel while providing just the right amount of body and shape retention.
2. An all-purpose interlining that helps prevent resin fading and improves versatility! With coarse points such as 7-point types, which are characterized by a soft hand feel, even materials that are prone to resin fading can be used across a wide range of fabrics because fading is less likely to occur.
3. Stable adhesive strength High, stable adhesive strength can also be achieved on brushed materials and worsted materials. Can be used for body panels, facings, and parts, and is also compatible with dry cleaning and home laundering.
What are the standard sizes for inside belt interfacing used in men's garments?
33 mm, 38 mm.
What kind of problem is kiratsuki?
It is the phenomenon of resin sparkling through the gaps in the weave of the face fabric. Materials with a loose weave and dark-colored lightweight fabrics are especially noticeable, so using colored resin will resolve it.
What kind of problem is bleed-through?
A state where adhesive resin seeps through to the outer fabric, impairing the fabric’s hand. As a solution, choose one with a smaller adhesive resin particle size.
What does the D (denier) in 20D or 30D mean?
Denier is a unit used for filament yarn (continuous filament fiber)*, indicating the weight per 9,000 m. If 9,000 m weighs 1 g, it is 1 denier; if it weighs 50 g, it is 50 denier. The higher the denier count, the thicker the thread and the heavier the fabric.
What kind of problem is bubbling?
A condition where fine air bubbles appear to be trapped between the outer fabric and interlining. It occurs because the compatibility between the fabric and interlining is poor. It may be resolved by choosing an interlining with vertical and horizontal stretch.
What kind of problem is fading?
It is when the uneven texture of the resin pellets becomes clearly visible on the surface of the outer textile. The solution is to choose interfacing with smaller resin dots.
What is the difference between single-dot and double-dot fusible interlining?
It is a difference in the adhesive coating method. Single dot is made by solidifying fine powdered adhesive and transferring it in a dotted pattern onto the base fabric. Because the adhesive is fine, it is less likely to bleed through thin materials and less likely to cause fading. Double dot has a two-layer structure, with a gel-like adhesive forming the base and powdered adhesive layered on top of it. It provides strong adhesion for a wide range of materials.
What is the difference between the whites such as KW, OW, W, and Y in fusible interlining colors?
The color notation varies by product number, but KW and W are fluorescent white, and Y and OW are off-white. Fluorescent white is a whiter, purer white.
Can interfacing be shipped rolled on a tube?
Basically, orders of 5 m or more will be shipped wound on a tube.
How should I choose interfacing?
The appropriate interlining varies depending on the face fabric material, thickness, and area of use, so we cannot give a single answer. Please contact us via inquiries with the face fabric material, area of use (neckline, body, etc.), and desired hand feel.
If you can provide the face fabric, we can perform an adhesion test. Please request this from Interlining Adhesion Test. By performing an adhesion test, you can find out in advance things like adhesive strength and changes in appearance.
